BAD FRAMING
anthony asks:
The builder cut straight though the double joists to put in a stove vent system. There is a 24 inch gap. They put two joist together because this is the main wait of the house. We have a table over the floor where the cut is in the joists. This area of the floor has drop by /2 to 3/4 inch. This is a two story house and the top floor bathroom do not close. We have been in the house for only 11 months. Very concern things will get worst. Any suggestions.

Because this sounds serious I think it would be in your best interest to get an engineer who has experience in residential construction to advise you on this one. I’m curious what the builder has to say on this one. If the area can to accessed most likely can be fixed by an experience framer.
